Last year saw the successful delivery of our Learning and Development pilot programme which explored blended learning models in partnership with industry leaders Chartered Institute of Procurement & Supply (CIPS), Chartered Management Institute (CMI) and Association of Project Management (APM).
Our educational model has evolved – and will continue to evolve – to respond to the developing needs of our customers. Scotland Excel is leading the way with a responsive approach informed through the delivery of the Procurement & Commercial Improvement Programme assessments.
Our new offering is branded as The Academy and covers a number of areas including: procurement, leadership, management, project management and commercial learning. Utilising a new platform to support wider geographic participation, the Academy provides a much more inclusive and participative model for learning.
The recently launched Leadership and Management Diploma offers delegates a monthly programme of workshops, online learning and work-based practice and the opportunity to earn a Chartered Management Institute (CMI) Diploma.
We also offer a series of workshops and masterclasses which address some of the specific challenges facing the sector which were identified during a recent round of PCIP assessments.
Further developments for education programmes are in the pipeline including a new route to Chartered Institute of Procurement & Supply (CIPS) qualifications which will be launched in 2018.
A range of procurement training courses are also available to public sector organisations through the Scottish Government's Procurement and Commercial Training Frameworks. These frameworks provide access to the 'short course’ training opportunities that were previously available through Scotland Excel.
