The Academy Boosts its Learning Programme
Scotland Excel’s Academy Boosts its Career Development Programme for the Public Sector.
Scotland Excel’s Academy has extended its work-based learning and organisational development programme to offer more opportunities for Scotland’s public sector employees to gain a qualification.
As a CMI Approved Centre, The Academy has bolstered its courses after extensive feedback identified an appetite from learners to include more Leadership and Management courses.
Ian McNaught, The Academy’s Strategic Organisational Development Manager said, “We’re extremely proud of The Academy and we’re now expanding on what we can offer the public sector.
“Our CMI Approved Centre was designed initially to train public procurement specialists but we soon realised that our team had a lot more to offer the wider public sector. We now run a range of programmes that take in Procurement, Leadership and Management, Coaching and Mentoring, Project Management , Business Analysis and Innovation; and other work-based development opportunities.
“Our programmes are a fraction of the cost when compared with some other educational providers, because we invest 100% back into the organisation. Our innovative courses are designed to support a progressive pathway benefiting both people at the start of their career, progressing right up to the CEO and provide the tools and knowledge required to help the individual and the organisation to evolve.”
There are several ways to learn with The Academy, including online, taught workshops, practice workshops and thought leadership masterclasses, all delivered by industry experts and fully trained practitioners.
The Academy is the first Chartered Manager Assessment Centre in Scotland and therefore the only centre for the Scottish public sector employee to gain the highly sought-after qualification. The integration of the Chartered Manager programme into the syllabus has increased the interest in the Centre of Expertise, and with The Academy on track to fill all programmes there is demand to schedule in more learning opportunities.
