Scotland Excel launches strategy for the next five years

Corporate Strategy 2018-23

Scotland Excel is delighted to announce the launch of our new corporate strategy for 2018-23 which details our plans for meeting the requirements of our local authorities and public sector partners over the next five years. Our strategy sets out our vision to provide innovative, transformative solutions for local and national public services across Scotland. We aim to achieve this by building on our strategic procurement expertise and experience of developing collaborative solutions which support better outcomes for Scotland’s people and communities.

Key commitments over the next five years include a continued focus on social care to support some of the most vulnerable people in our communities. We are also developing a national framework for new build housing to help deliver the Scottish Government's target of 50,000 affordable homes built by 2021. Work will continue to increase procurement and commercial capability in our sector whilst supporting local economic impact and jobs with councils and other partners.

Councillor John Shaw, Convener of Scotland Excel's Joint Committee said "This new five year corporate strategy demonstrates that Scotland Excel has no intention of resting on its laurels. It builds on the success of the past three years and clearly articulates how the organisation can achieve more on behalf of its local government members and partners."

Our Director, Julie Welsh, is already focused on the future. "Our new strategy is very much about growth. Scotland Excel is at its heart a forward-thinking organisation, and we are constantly identifying new opportunities that have the potential to deliver substantial benefits for customers, communities and people across Scotland."
