Care and Support Services Framework to re-open
Our Care and Support Services Framework will re-open to tenders from care providers in October
Our national Care and Support Services Framework will re-open in October, offering care providers the opportunity to submit a tender to join.
The framework went live on 1st April 2020 with 78 providers offering in excess of 300 services. Its flexible approach means it can be reopened periodically for providers to submit a tender to join the framework.
Scotland Excel has received expressions of interest from a number of councils and providers to reopen the framework.
The flexible framework brings greater collaboration between HSCPs, councils and care providers. Its overarching aim is to increase choice and control for people using services and deliver best value and service quality standards. It also seeks to drive innovation and best practice on a national level and support local commissioning arrangements.
The framework promotes payment of the Real Living Wage and other staff costs to support the long-term sustainability of the care sector. It enhances delivery of the Scottish Government’s Self-directed Support legislation and reflects the aims of the Adult Social Care Reform Programme.
The framework will be reopened in early October with formal publication on Public Contracts Scotland. Providers will then be able to submit a tender to join the framework. Bids will be evaluated, and those who are successful will join the framework in April 2021.
