Coaction 2019 – Inform. Learn. Develop.
Delegates will be able to ‘seize the day’ at this unique learning and development event!
The Scotland Excel Academy and the Scottish Government have teamed up for a unique event that will see some of the most influential people in learning and development help to shape the next generation of professional qualifications for the Scottish public sector.
Coaction 2019 is a free one-day summit being held at Glasgow Caledonian University on Thursday 22 August. Delegates will explore the learning and development needs of the Scottish public sector employee in the 21st century.
As well as being an opportunity for the learning and development community to put forward their ideas on the future training and educational needs of the public sector, it is also a hot ticket for the community to meet with colleagues, peers and influencers to forge proactive partnerships.
The event is the brainchild of Scotland Excel’s in-house Academy and came about after its research highlighted the need for a holistic approach to learning and development that would go beyond what is currently on offer to public sector employees.
Ian McNaught, The Academy’s Strategic Organisational Development Manager explains more: “This event is a collaboration between the Scotland Excel Academy and the Scottish Government that will get the big hitters in Scottish public sector learning and development under the one roof to scope out their needs and wants for their organisations and the nation.
I believe this is the first time an event of this type this has ever been attempted and we are extremely excited to have had so much interest already. The schedule for the day has been carefully planned to ensure we offer delegates an opportunity to hear from high-profile speakers, shape future learning landscape and network with their peers.”
Nikki Archer, Deputy Director, Head of Procurement and Commercial Policy and Strategy at the Scottish Government also said: “The Scottish Government are committed to lifelong learning, and we’re delighted to partner with the Scotland Excel Academy for this unique event aimed at the decision-makers in public sector learning and development to help shape what we offer to build the procurement and commercial skills we need now and in the future.”
Speakers confirmed so far include; Sheila Dunn, Scottish Credit & Qualification Framework Partnership, Nikki Archer, Deputy Director, Head of Procurement and Commercial Policy and Strategy at the Scottish Government and Sharon Griffin, Deputy Head of Procurement at the University of Strathclyde.
